Job Title: Quality Assurance Investigator
Job Description The Quality Assurance Investigator will initiate, track, trend, lead, write, and close all investigations into internal failures and external customer complaints. The role requires driving the completion of all corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner and assisting department-specific subject matter experts in root cause analysis.
Responsibilities - Conduct personnel interviews to determine the sequence of events in root cause determination.
- Review test data for chemical analyses as an inherent part of investigations.
- Develop investigation SOPs, work instructions, and conduct associated training.
- Verify the effectiveness of all corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain the corrective and preventive actions database and analyze trends.
- Collaborate with all aspects of operations to ensure timely completion of CAPAs.
- Participate in daily quality meetings to address the status of issues and resolve any developing trends.
- Engage in cross-functional meetings relating to failures.
- Create weekly reports on open investigations and ensure timely completion.
- Prepare monthly reports on failure metrics and trends.
- Assist in training junior QA Investigators and developing new procedures.
Essential Skills - Quality assurance knowledge with a focus on corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Strong critical thinking, analytical thinking, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent technical writing skills and understanding of complex issues.
- Attention to detail in data processing and documentation.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively in a team environment.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing demands and communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting productivity demands.
Additional Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5-8 years of direct experience in conducting investigations, root cause analysis, and execution of CAPAs in an FDA-regulated environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a regulated pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based in a chemical manufacturing environment dealing with powdered products, as well as an office setting. The position follows a Monday to Friday flexible day shift, with the possibility to adjust hours to accommodate early or late meetings as part of investigations. The team consists of four investigators and a manager, and the environment may fluctuate between busy and slower periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr.
