Job Description

We have a 1-Year, 100% remote, Senior Project Manager contract that may be extended by our client for up to another 5 years. The anticipated start is November 1, 2025.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading highly complex, large-scale IT projects that directly impact organizational operations and strategic objectives. This role oversees all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and close-out. The Senior Project Manager ensures that scope, budget, schedule, quality, and stakeholder expectations are effectively managed. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary point of accountability for project success, while also providing leadership in risk management, organizational change management, and cross-functional team collaboration. The Senior Project Manager must bring extensive experience in government and enterprise-level IT initiatives, providing both technical and managerial expertise to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables aligned with organizational priorities.

• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and issues.

• Lead project teams, providing mentorship, knowledge transfer, and accountability.

• Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, including PMBOK and California Project Management Framework.

• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align requirements and project objectives.

• Oversee quality assurance, system testing, and project acceptance.

• Produce and deliver project documentation, reporting, and presentations.

• Manage project close-out, lessons learned, and transition activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent with 11 years of experience).

• PMP Certification (mandatory).

• 7+ years of project management experience; 4+ years as a Senior PM on large/complex IT projects.

• 4+ years providing technical/management services to government agencies.

• 4+ years in team building, mentoring, and knowledge transfer.

• 4+ years leading and facilitating team meetings.

• 4+ years with MS Project, risk/issue management, scope/change control, stakeholder management, and process analysis.

• Consulting experience on projects valued at $5M+.

• Experience leading Agile projects with JIRA or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Master's/Doctorate in IT, Business, or related field.

• 9+ years PM experience, including 6+ as a Senior PM.

• 6+ years in government consulting/management.

• 6+ years mentoring, coaching, and leading teams.

• 6+ years facilitating executive-level meetings and presentations.
