Qualifications:

  • Education: MD/DO from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Active New York State Medical License.
  • Experience: Open to new graduates; Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Technical Skills: Diagnostic proficiency, treatment planning.
  • Soft Skills: Patient/parent communication, teamwork, adaptability, preventative care advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Collect, record, and maintain patients' information and histories.
  • Prescribe and administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and family members.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress.
  • Direct, coordinate, consult with, and refer patients to nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
  • Advise patients, parents, and guardians on diets, activities, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Conduct research and remain up to date on current trends, discoveries, and developments in the field.
