Qualifications:
- Education: MD/DO from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active New York State Medical License.
- Experience: Open to new graduates; Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- Technical Skills: Diagnostic proficiency, treatment planning.
- Soft Skills: Patient/parent communication, teamwork, adaptability, preventative care advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Collect, record, and maintain patients' information and histories.
- Prescribe and administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and family members.
- Monitor patients' conditions and progress.
- Direct, coordinate, consult with, and refer patients to nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
- Advise patients, parents, and guardians on diets, activities, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Conduct research and remain up to date on current trends, discoveries, and developments in the field.
