Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Cemetery Services Specialist for a 3-month temporary position in Alcoa, Tennessee 37701 . This role pays $15/hr and supports cemetery operations by ensuring respectful and efficient interment services along with the care of cemetery grounds. Responsibilities include carrying out openings and closings for burials, entombments, inurnments, and disinterments; installing and assembling foundations, memorials, markers, and burial containers; responding to client family work orders; and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of burial sites and cemetery grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform burial site openings and closings, including entombments, inurnments, and disinterments
• Install and assemble foundations, memorials, markers, and outer burial containers
• Respond to client family requests, including grave and marker maintenance
• Conduct interment verification procedures and prepare a 25-foot radius around burial sites by filling, tamping, seeding, or sodding
• Adhere to company safety protocols and Universal Precautions
• Maintain company equipment and facilities through preventive maintenance
• Complete mandatory training, including Dignity University courses, and uphold Dignity Memorial Promise standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of six months experience operating standard cemetery or landscaping equipment
• Clean driving record and ability to operate heavy equipment (dump trucks, tractors, utility vehicles, backhoes, etc.)
• Proficiency with hand tools (shovels, picks, rakes, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, etc.)
• Skill in using mechanical equipment and measuring devices (tape measures, yardsticks)
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with coworkers, contractors, and client families
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in adverse weather conditions
• Awareness of safety and security protocols and general mechanical aptitude
